A Doctor of Medicine and a board-certified radiologist. After graduating from Akita University School of Medicine, he completed a pediatric residency at Keio University, followed by radiology training at Dokkyo Medical University and St. Marianna University School of Medicine.
Since 2010, he has been a professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Tokai University’s School of Engineering while also serving as a clinical professor in the Department of Radiology at St. Marianna University School of Medicine.
In 2004, he developed the DWIBS (Diffusion-Weighted Whole-Body Imaging with Background Suppression) method, a non-radiation whole-body cancer screening technique, contributing to advancements in MRI-based cancer diagnostics.
In April 2025, he plans to open “Takahara Clinic Innovative Scan” in Kyodo, Setagaya Ward, offering customized imaging diagnostics.
Additionally, as the CEO of DWIBS Search Co., Ltd., he is leading initiatives to provide painless MRI breast cancer screenings, aiming to free women from the discomfort of traditional breast cancer examinations.
